Jeremiah 16:14-18:23 / 1 Thessalonians 4:1-5:11 / Psalm 81:1-16 / Proverbs 25:6-7

Standout verse:

Jeremiah 17:7-8“Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, and whose hope is the Lord. For he shall be like a tree planted by the waters, which spreads out its root by the river, and will not fear when the heat comes; but its leaf will be green, and will not be anxious in the year of drought, nor will cease from yielding fruit.”

These inspiring verses cast great vision for anyone who wants to grow stronger and more fruitful in the Lord in any (and every) season they will face.

When we choose to walk closely with the Lord - WHEN OUR HOPE IS IN HIM, WHEN WE LOOK TO HIM AND TRUST HIM WITH EVERY DETAIL OF OUR LIVES - our roots will run deep and strong – we’ll be well-watered as if by a river.

We don’t have to wither and die due to lack of material, emotional, or financial resources (those things “above the ground”…what we can see with our own human eyes) because the source of our strength, “our roots” (our foundation on the TRUTH of God, His ways, His designs, our relationship with Him) run deep and sustain us.

Even when the heat comes (trials & challenges), even in the year of drought (material, financial, whatever the case) we will be GREEN and be FRUITFUL!  YES, we can continue to become GREENER and STRONGER and our lives can still YIELD FRUIT in seasons of drought. THAT’S SO COOL!  What beautiful vision!
