Jeremiah 23:21-25:38 / 2 Thessalonians 2:1-17 / Psalm 84:1-12 / Proverbs 25:15
“I am a God near at hand”, says the Lord. “And not a God far off. Can anyone hide himself in secret places, so I shall not see him?” Says the Lord, “Do I not fill Heaven and earth?” says the Lord.
OUR GOD IS A GOD “WHO SEES” – HE IS ALL KNOWING, AND EVER-PRESENT. We’re fooling ourselves if we think we can leave Him on the sidelines and live our lives apart from Him, believing He won’t notice.
Satan loves to convince us that we need our own personal privacy – that sometimes we need space from God, that “not every little thing in our lives needs to be dictated by our moral parameters”…that sometimes we need to just “take a break from all the rules and do what will make us happy – what feels good in the moment.”
One of Satan’s strategies is to try to get us to block out the Lord from our thinking and convince us that God is too busy and doesn’t really care what we do (because He’s not paying attention). If he can get us to do what we want, and then go to God and ask for forgiveness later, he can get us in a torturous cycle of sin/repent, sin /repent, sin/repent… a taxing, destructive way to live.
So here’s the truth that will help us live strong: Our God is NEAR AT HAND - HE IS NOT FAR OFF. HE PROMISES NEVER TO LEAVE US OR FORSAKE US – HE IS ALWAYS NEAR AND CAN ALWAYS BE FOUND WHEN WE SEARCH FOR HIM WITH OUR WHOLE HEARTS! He cares about EVERY DETAIL of our lives and wants us to live IN THE LIGHT in EVERY AREA! HE DEEPLY LOVES US - HIS WAYS ARE BEST and LEAD TO LIFE.
Let’s not run from Him, LET’S RUN TO HIM knowing He has an amazing plan for our lives – a plan that will give us a FUTURE AND A HOPE!!
