Jeremiah 48:1-49:22 / 2 Timothy 4:1-22 / Psalm 95:1-96:13 / Proverbs 26:9-12

Standout Verse:

Proverbs 27:12

“A prudent man foresees evil and hides himself, but the simple pass on and are punished.”

Proverbs 22:3 states the exact same thing – obviously there is GREAT IMPORTANCE and DEEP MEANING behind these verses…God gives them to us to STRNGTHEN, EQUIP and INSPIRE us so we can LIVE STRONG!  You just can’t talk about this subject too many times!

We are a "prudent person" when WE KNOW GOD’S TRUTH and when we are ACTIVE in our faith (as opposed to passive).  When we know God’s truth, we are able to RIGHTLY IDENTIFY the enemy’s lies and his plans to “take us out”.  When we see the lies coming, we have two God-given strategies for victory:

1. We can either take out our offensive weapon (the Sword of the Spirit) and by the Power of the Holy Spirit, eliminate the lie (by identifying it, calling it like for what it is, and diffusing it with God’s truth)

OR

2. We can simply and easily bypass it unscathed, without allowing it to take hold of us in any way (guarding our minds, not opening the door to wrong thinking or sinful behavior).

This verse refers to the “simple” in terms of NOT knowing God’s truth, living passively, easily falling for the enemy’s lies, entertaining all kinds of confused/mixed up ideas, easily swayed, easily taken out.

God sets before us an EASY CHOICE – the choice to be PRUDENT - a SUPER attainable option.  Let’s go for it!
