Hebrews 11:17-40…A BUNCH of Great stuff!

Hebrews, Chapter 11 is a fantastic summary of some the great hero’s of faith found throughout the Old Testament…Abraham, Sarah, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua, and a slew of others!  Each one of these people faced odds that were stacked against them - they were the underdogs, the out-numbered.  Each one of them faced greatly uncomfortable circumstances, and their futures hung in the balance with the outcome resting solely on whether or not they chose to walk in faith or not.

They all had a clear-cut choice to go their own way, striving to make things happen, striving to win.  What makes them heroes is that they each realized that if they decided to go it alone without the help of THE ONE TRUE GOD, they were toast.  They were 100% desperately dependent on Him – His strength, His strategies, His power, His plans.  While none of them were perfect, each one eventually realized and recognized that GOD was their source, their refuge…and each determined to look to Him and walk closely with Him!

Today we face great odds.  The values and systems of the world we live in are completely contrary to God’s ways.  There is an enemy who seeks to steal and destroy our relationships, our marriages, our families, our destinies, our lives.  Our only hope is to recognize our deep, personal need for our Heavenly Father.  As we choose Him, His ways, and His plans, He will lead us, allow us to walk in freedom and victory and bless us exceedingly, abundantly beyond what we could hope or imagine!
