Ezekiel 7:1-9:11 / Hebrews 5:1-14 / Psalms 105:1-15 / Proverbs 26:28

Standout Verse:

Hebrews 5:13

“For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness, for he is a babe.  But solid food belongs to those who are  of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

Okay, raise your hand if you believe we are living in a crazy, confused, mixed up world that stands in direct opposition to the truth of God.  If you’re not sure, just take a trip to the mall, turn on the TV, or hang out online for awhile.  If your eyes are open to the Lord in any way, you will be able to quickly discern the fact that there is any enemy who directly opposes God and tries anything and everything he can to distract, disengage and destroy our relationship with Him by using all manner of temptation, sin, confusion and general insanity to do it - all the while crossing his fingers hoping that we’ll fall for it.

Never before has there been more of a reason to ask ourselves this question: What does my “spiritual diet” look like?  Am I eating baby food…relying on others to feed me, taking a bite or two at a time? OR Have I come to the realization that, while baby food is good for a short season, solid food, and growing strong so we can feed ourselves is unquestionably the best for us if we hope to live strong in this wild world.

If our answer is the latter, let’s proactively determine to seek the Lord like never before - know His truth and to continue growing in wisdom, knowledge and understanding so we can be steadfast and unshakeable when we encounter Satan’s fiery arrows.  While baby food is good for a season, it won’t be able to sustain us long term as we change, grow and face deeper challenge.

Let’s choose to move past the mashed carrots, cheerios, and goldfish and sit down to a daily serving of meat and potatoes - God’s steadfast, unshakable, rock solid truth that equips, strengthens and brings us health!  God’s buffet is ALL YOU CAN EAT – open 24/7…So GOOD!
