Ezekiel 16:44-17:24 / Hebrews 8:1-13 / Psalms 106:13-31 / Proverbs 27:7-9

Standout Verse:

Psalm 106:14-15, 21-22,25

“They soon forgot His works; They did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness and tested God in the desert.  And He gave them their request, but sent leanness to their soul. (V.21) They forgot God their Savior who had done great things in Egypt, wondrous works in the land of Ham, awesome things by the Red Sea. (V.25) But they complained in their tents, and did not heed the voice of the Lord.”

Over and over the Bible addresses the fact that when people forget the Lord, forget the wonderful things He’s done in our lives, forget His faithfulness, forget how we’ve been recued from a life of hopelessness, sin and shame and forget the feeling of being close to Him, we open ourselves up to fear, complaining and quickly find ourselves living with a complete lack of direction leading to hopelessness, and confusion…NO BUENO!

The cool thing is we don’t have to fall into this pattern of self-imposed “leanness”.  The simple solution is this:

WE MUST CHOOSE TO ACTIVELY REMEMBER GOD’S FAITHFULNESS, POWER AND “EVER-PRESENCE” IN OUR LIVES!

This takes a conscious effort to deliberately begin each day looking to Him saying “YES” to His ways, focusing our minds on His faithfulness.  As we choose to NOT FORGET, our faith rises, our hearts are strengthened and we will walk strong, confident and free of fear!
