Ezekiel 18:1-19:14 / Hebrews 9:1-10 / Psalms 106:32-48 / Proverbs 27:10

Standout Verse:

Ezekiel 18:30-32

"Repent and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.  Cast away from you all the transgressions which you have committed, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit, for why should you die O house of Israel?  For I have no pleasure in the death of one who dies, says the Lord.  Therefore TURN and LIVE.”

In life there are the obvious wicked ways and there are the not so obvious.  We know the enemy roams around seeking whom he may devour.  Sometimes his schemes are blatant and sometimes he just takes one bit at a time.  It’s like the old story about the frog in the pot of slowly boiling water – the temperature gets hotter and hotter until it boils the frog without him ever realizing what’s happening.  Sin can be much the same…if we allow bits and pieces to creep in, it can quickly take over before we know it, and if we allow it to remain, it will end in pain, confusion and destruction.

God wants us to be people who are FULLY ALIVE – He wants us to turn from sinful behavior and wrong beliefs…anything that inhibits our growing in Christ.  As we do, He promises us to give us a new heart and a new spirit.  He takes no pleasure in seeing people fumble around, lost and lonely.  His heart breaks when His children walk away from His best for them.  He deeply loves us and has wonderful things for us as we open our hearts to Him…ABUNDANT LIFE!
