Psalm 107: 8-9, 13-15
“Oh, that men would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness, and for His wonderful works to the children of men! For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness. (V.13) Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble, and He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of the darkness and the shadow of death, and broke their chains into pieces. Oh, that we would give thanks to the Lord for His goodness.”
We can see more of the goodness of the Lord, and the work He is doing in our lives when our eyes are lifted up and our hearts are grateful. It’s easy to allow our countenance to fall and for our focus to become clouded when tough times come. We must say “NO” to forgetting the things He’s done for us – He’s broken our chains, set us free, given us new life! Those things alone are worth a continual, zealous celebration!
Let’s be people who steadfastly trust in the goodness and providence of our Heavenly Father – in good times and in times of trouble, knowing and believing that He will SAVE US, LEAD US and GUIDE US as we walk with Him. Thank You Lord – we give You our deepest thanks and praise!
