1 John 3:1
“Behold, what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him.”
The world has it’s own value system – it’s own set of rules which stand in direct opposition to the things of God. It is an atmosphere of self-preservation and self-service. Looking out for “number one” is the bottom line, value and success is measured by material wealth and the moral compass is ever-changing depending on the cultural climate we happen to find ourselves living in. Sin, confusion, pain, destroyed relationships and consequences are the cost willingly paid in order to live “free”, unrestrained and apart from any kind of higher power.
If we are God’s children (i.e. if we’ve repented of our sins, asked Jesus into our heart and chosen to walk out our lives with Him at the center) then we live in this world, but we operate under a totally different system – God’s ways and designs!
In God’s economy, an ever-growing relationship with Him is primary, followed by love and service toward others. He offers those who keep their eyes on Him and fill themselves with His TRUTH, supernatural peace, faithful provision, adventure, purpose, and LIFE right here on earth in addition to ETERNAL LIFE spent with Him when we die. Success isn’t measured by material possessions but by how healthy our relationships are becoming, by how we love God (evidenced by how we trust and obey Him) and others, by the peace we are experiencing and by the joy that fills us as we walk with Him.
2 different worlds, 2 different systems, 2 different sets of values, 2 different ways to live…ONE CLEAR CHOICE!
