Nehemiah 11:1-12:26 / 1 Corinthians 10:14-33 / Psalm 34:11-22 / Proverbs 21:14-16
“A man who wanders from the way of understanding (God’s ways) will rest in the assembly of the dead.”
This isn’t a necessarily a “salvation issue”. Many who are saved “wake up” one day to find themselves having “strayed from the way of understanding”…in trouble, and confused as to how it could have happened. The enemy would love us to believe that God’s road is “too narrow” and “too restrictive” and “will kill our fun”. He beckons us with all manner of temptation to wander from the “way of understanding” and join him on his side where he promises all kinds of faux freedom, peace and happiness.
Unlike God, whose promises are sure, steadfast, unshakeable and life-giving, Satan’s promises are temporary, unsatisfying and will eventually lead to our destruction.
As Christians, we need to settle our hearts and get a solid UNDERSTANDING on this STRAIGHT-UP TRUTH: GOD’S WAYS LEAD TO ABUNDANT, FRUITFUL LIFE. His “way” is clear-cut (as opposed to “too narrow”), His parameters lead to true freedom (as opposed to “restriction”), and when we follow Him we will experience true joy and fulfillment (as opposed to “having our fun taken away”).
It’s a simple equation that leads each of us to a vital decision. If we“slow down our crazy ride” and stop long enough to choose to be “spiritually smart”, forward thinking, weighing the promised destination each path promises, we can clearly see IT’S AN EASY CHOICE TO MAKE…the one that leads to BEAUTIFUL LIFE!
