Isaiah 33:1-36:22 / Galatians 5:16-26 / Psalm 64:1-10 / Proverbs 23:23

Standout Verse:
Galatians 5:16
“I say then: Walk in the Spirit and you will not fulfill the lust of the flesh.  For the flesh lusts against the Spirit and the Spirit against the flesh, and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things you wish.”

Apart from God, the pull of our flesh is strong.  And, if we aren’t walking closely with Him, the chances it will eventually override our good intentions is certain.  But as Christians, we’ve been given this GREAT TRUTH to stand on:

GREATER IS HE (GOD) THAT IS IN US THAN he (SATAN) WHO IS IN THE WORLD!  With God on our side we are more than conquerors – WE ARE NO LONGER AT THE MERCY OF THE LUSTS OF OUR FLESH! SO GREAT!!

God created each of us with a free will to choose – our lives boil down to a series of moment by moment decisions: what will we eat, what we’ll wear, where will we go, who we’ll we talk to, what we’ll look at, how we’ll spend our time…the choice is ours.

One of the biggest decisions we must make is how we want to live – Do we want to walk closely with the Lord, enjoying His goodness & love, becoming the people He created us to be OR Do we prefer to be independent from God OR Do we find ourselves somewhere in between? It’s really that simple.

Let’s assume we’re going with the first option.  From this place of strong vision, we can then proceed to make Spirit-led choices all day long that are in line with God’s plans, purposes and designs knowing His Holy Spirit is right there with us leading and guiding.

How amazing is it that He’s made a clear-cut way for us to live out each day (if we choose) growing closer to our Heavenly Father becoming more equipped and able to identify those things that draw our flesh so we can quickly and decisively reject ANYTHING that threatens to compromise His BEST for US!!
