Ecclesiastes 1:1-3:22 / 2 Corinthians 6:1-10 / Psalm 46:1-11 / Proverbs 22:15
Standout Verse: Ecclesiastes 2:24, 3:13 & 5:18-20
“Nothing is better for a man than he should eat and drink, and that his soul should enjoy in his good labor. This also I saw from the hand of God.”
(3:13) “And also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor – it is the gift of God.”
(5:18-20)” Here is what I have seen: It is good and fitting for one to eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor in which he toils under the sun all the days of his life which God gives him; for it is a heritage.”
One of the main themes in Ecclesiastes is God wants us to “STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES” and ENJOY the things that He has given us. It is so easy to get caught up in the daily grind, walking the treadmill of life, striving to “achieve”, “work” and succeed. We can easily find ourselves missing out on “real life” – the little blessings, the beauty, the people, the “moments” that God has placed before us and wants us to “feel”, see and experience - even in the midst of living in this fallen world.
Psalm 33:5 says, “THE EARTH IS FULL OF THE GOODNESS OF THE LORD”. He purposely created beauty for us, and, if we’re not enjoying it, we simply need to STOP, SLOW DOWN and ask Him to quiet our hearts and open our eyes to the blessings He has placed all around us. When we ask, He will show us the things He wants us to see – the little things He has for us to embrace and the people and He wants us to cherish. GOD IS SO GOOD, and SO KIND and HE IS ON OUR SIDE!
