Psalm 57:7“My heart is steadfast, O God, my heart is steadfast. I will sing and give praise.”
Even in the midst of danger and attack, David speaks praise to the Lord. Praise takes our eyes off the physical circumstances surrounding us and focuses our attention on God, His power, His ability, His plans and purposes, and His love for us. Praise is an OFFENSIVE WEAPON we must use, especially when we are facing fear, doubt, hopelessness or any kind of enemy fire. Praise is an “ACTION” word – it’s not passive or fleeting. It requires that we engage it and use it in order for it to be effective. When the arrows of accusation, fear and difficulty are flying try this:
Find some great praise and worship music – play it LOUD and sing along. Even if you don’t think you can sing - do it! It’s not about being ‘on pitch, it’s about being in tune with the truth. As we sing, we declare God’s goodness, power and faithfulness - our fears will break and our faith will rise.
