Song 1:1-4:16 / 2 Corinthians 8:16-24 / Psalm 50:1-23 / Proverbs 22:22-23

Standout Verse: Psalm 50:15
“Call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you shall glorify Me.”

Often times, we seem to think that we can handle life on our own until we get into a big challenge where we need some big help. Sadly, we can be a forgetful bunch, and, as soon as God comes through, and things get manageable and back to “normal” again, we subconsciously put Him back in the medicine cupboard until we find ourselves in another “day of trouble”.

Yes, God is our deliverer and our ever-present help in time of need, but He also wants us to enjoy His presence CONTINUOUSLY AND CONSISTENTLY EVERYDAY!  The tough times, when we call out to Him (and are most aware of our need of Him), should serve to remind us that HIS REALITY AND PRESENCE ARE AVAILABLE TO US 24/7!

Any parent wants to enjoy a close relationship with their children, not just when they crash off their bikes, but EVERYDAY. We want them to know and experience our love, presence, correction, care and provision. And that’s what our Heavenly Father wants for us too. He’s a relationship God who knows His best for us is found in a true, consistent, relationship with Him.
