Standout Verse: Matthew 25: The Parable of the talents

(v. 21) (To the man who had invested and multiplied his talents) “ His lord said to him, “Well done good and faithful servant, you were faithful over a few things, I will make you rule over many things.  Enter into the joy of your lord.”

(v. 24) “Then he who had received one talent came and said, “Lord I knew you to be a harsh man, reaping where you have not sown and gathering where you have not scattered seed.  I was afraid and hid your talent in the ground.  Look, there you have what is yours.”

(v. 27) (The master’s response)  “So you ought to have deposited my money with the bankers and at my coming I would have received back my own wealth with interest.  Therefore, take the talent from him and give it to him who has ten talents.”

When God knit us together, He put in each of us gifts and talents.  He made us with a specific plan and purpose in mind.  Our God is so abundantly creative that He made us each unique, individual…there’s no one exactly like us!  So cool!

Our God isn’t vague or uninterested or just hoping that we’ll turn out “decent”.  When we live “in the dumps” and as if we are unknown or unloved or unimportant, I think God gets ticked off!  Not ticked off AT us, ticked off FOR us!  His deep desire is for us to become the people He made us to be! The truth is, “God don’t make no junk!” :0)

So here’s the deal…it’s up to us to seek Him, to know His truth and to ask Him, our Maker, what He had in mind for our lives when He was making us.  Let’s not squander or neglect or bury the gifts and talents He put in us!  Let’s be risk –takers - sometimes the things the Lord calls us to do might look radical or “out of the box” or risky in the eyes of some.  Let’s get brave and GO FOR IT with the Lord.  Let’s lay aside our fears and doubts and insecurities.  The truth is EACH OF US has an incredible adventure that God has made us to be on with Him at the helm of our ship!  Don’t miss out on what He has for you!  Don’t be ripped off or cheated out of living life on a fantastic adventure with the Lord.
