Numbers 30:1-31:54 / Luke 4:1-30 / Psalm 63:1-11 / Proverbs 11:20-21
“ O God, YOU are my God. Early I will seek You. My soul thirsts for You, my flesh longs for You in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water. (v. 3) Because Your loving kindness is better than life, my lips will praise You. Thus I will bless You while I live. I will lift up my hands in Your name. My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness. And my mouth shall praise You with joyful lips. When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches. Because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I shall rejoice.”
David was clear that the Lord was his source for all things. He woke to seek Him, his soul was thirsty for God in a land that could not provide the things he needed to walk strong and lead the people. He was 100% clear that he was a needy man – needy for the things that only God could provide.
He spoke of God’s loving kindness – that same loving kindness that draws our hearts to Him today. He was committed to a life of praise-filled thanksgiving, centered on the One who provides. David ended his days with the Lord in His thoughts acknowledging the Lord’s help and protection rejoicing in the safety that God had given him.
That’s God’s heart for each of us today! He wants us seek Him everyday acknowledging Him as our source, walking with Him, experiencing His loving kindness. When we give our days to the Lord and live a God-centered life, we can grow and become fruitful no matter what we are going through!
