Numbers 24:1-25:1 / Luke 2:1-35 / Psalm 59:1-17 / Proverbs 11:14
“Where there is no counsel, the people fall. But in the multitude of counsel there is safety.”
SAFETY is something we all deeply desire. Safety comes from knowing God, His truth, walking with Him and doing the things He calls us to do. However, due to the fact we live in a fallen world, there will certainly be times we wind up facing situations that are beyond us. It’s in those times that we need to be surrounded by Godly people who are truly walking with Him who can speak truth to us and help us navigate our circumstances.
The best “multitude of counsel” is made up of individuals who are running hard after the Lord. Even so, the counsel of others should never replace our one-on-one relationship with the Lord. There is never a time when we put God on the shelf and elevate the counsel of others above hearing from the Lord ourselves. We need to continually seek Him and fill ourselves with His truth while at the same time leaning into people we know are doing the same. As we do, the Lord will continue to speak to us AND He’ll reveal Himself through the Godly men and women in our lives.
God’s heart is never that His people fall. He wants us to walk strong individually AND in the multitude of other believers – that’s the Body of Christ working strong!
