Deuteronomy 18:1-20:20 / Luke 9:28-50 / Psalm 73:1-28 / Proverbs 12:10

Standout Verse:

Deuteronomy 20:1

“When you go out to battle against your enemies, and see horses and chariots and people more numerous than you, do not be afraid of them; for the Lord your God is with you who brought you up from the land of Egypt.”

When God calls us to do something, He will guide us and provide for us ALL THE WAY as we walk in faith and obedience.  Sometimes the situation or challenge He’s called us to seems impossible and overwhelming by human sight.  But with God on our side fighting for us ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!

The Bible is full of inspiring underdog stories: Joshua leading the people to take the Promised Land, David and Goliath, Daniel and the lions and Nehemiah rebuliding the wall (to name just a few!).  In the New Testament He uses a little baby born in a manger to lowly parents to save the world and a band of fisherman, a tax collector, and average tradesmen to carry that life saving news to the world!

Let our faith arise as we grab ahold of the truth that we don’t need to worry about being strong enough to carry out the things God asks us to do – we need to faithfully look to our almighty Father who will give us EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED to walk in His ways TRUSTING HE WILL FIGHT FOR US!  When we are weak HE IS STRONG!  His will for us will be done as we stand on the fact that IT’S NOT BY OUR MIGHT OR BY OUR POWER, BUT BY THE SPIRIT OF GOD!  Pretty awesome!
