Joshua 9:1-10:43 / Luke 16:19-17:10 / Psalm 83:1-18 / Proverbs 13:4
“Then the men of Israel took some of their provisions, but they did not ask the counsel of the Lord.”
As Christians, no decision in our lives should be a “given”. We should be careful never to “rush through a door” just because it’s open. The enemy can open doors too. He specializes in dressing up situations to draw us in and lead us away from God’s plans for us. If we bypass the Lord’s counsel, we can find ourselves in a mess. It’s crucial for each of us to walk closely with the Lord so we will learn the sound of His voice and follow His leading. Without that “key”, we leave ourselves wide open to the lies and deception of the enemy.
Let’s be people who take the time to go before Him and specifically ask Him His will for the decisions we must make. He promises to answer! Sure, it takes a bit more time and requires that we actually hear from Him before we move, but when we walk out decisions this way, we can be assured that He will bring clarity into every situation - He will part the ‘sea’ and show us the specific way to go. That’s a promise!
