Deuteronomy 28:1-68 / Luke 11:14-36 / Psalm 77:1-20 / Proverbs 12:18
“When an unclean spirit goes out of a man, he goes through dry places seeking rest; and finding none he says, “I will return to my house from which I came.” And when he comes, he finds it swept and put in order. Then he goes and takes with him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter and dwell there and the last state of the man is worse than the first.”
Getting clean isn’t just about making a decision to get the junk out of our lives. Freeing our lives from sinful living, habits and thoughts isn’t just a one-time resolution that makes everything better. GETTING CLEAN is great, but STAYING CLEAN IS THE KEY!
Once we’ve made the decision to get free of the things that have ensnared our hearts and minds we CANNOT REMAIN NEUTRAL. The enemy could care less if we are free for a little while - he isn’t passive in his plans to take us out. Neither can we be neutral or passive when it comes to STAYING CLEAN.
We live in a world that is continually trying to occupy our thoughts, time and hearts with all manner of things (lies and junk) that will take us out IF we allow it. WE MUST PROACTIVELY FILL OURSELVES WITH THE TRUTH if we want to remain free of the things that once held us. THIS IS WHY DAILY TIME WITH THE LORD – SEEKING HIM, KNOWING HIM, AND KNOWING HIS TRUTH IS SO VITAL if we hope to GET CLEAN, STAY CLEAN AND BECOME THE PEOPLE WE WERE CREATED TO BE!
“Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world!’ SO AWESOME!
