I Samuel 8:1-9:27 / John 6:22-40 / Psalm 106:32-48 / Proverbs 14:34-35
(FROM YESTERDAY) Psalm 106:13-14, 21-22
“They soon forgot His works; they did not wait for His counsel, but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tested God in the dessert.
(V.21-22) They forgot God their Savior who had done great things in Egypt, wondrous things in the land of Ham, and awesome things by the Red Sea.”
(FROM TODAY)Psalm 106: 34-35
“They did not destroy the peoples concerning whom the Lord had commanded them. But they mingled with the Gentiles, and learned their works; they served their idols which become a snare to them. They even sacrificed their sons and daughters to demons and shed innocent blood.”
Thank You Lord that You’ve given us these verses to teach us and help us see what happens when life is lived apart from You - opposite to the ways You have for us. THE FACT IS: IT DOESN’T GO WELL. How great is it that we can learn from history so we don’t have to find ourselves repeating it. It’s so important to read this OFTEN so we can REMEMBER and APPLY it to our own lives.
If we are not PRO-ACTIVE in our walk with the Lord REMEMBERING His FAITHFULNESS; if we are hap-hazard or unengaged – one foot “in” with the Lord and one foot “in” the world; allowing mixture and mingling with the junk the world offers – there’s a 100% chance we will get taken out…so will our sons and daughters.
God’s ways are straight up and super clear: OUR #1 JOB IS TO TRUST HIM, walk with Him, seek Him, continue to grow in our knowledge and understanding of Him, BELIEVE HE IS GOOD AND HAS WONDERFUL THINGS FOR THOSE WHO SEEK HIM WITH UNDIVIDED HEARTS.
The TRUTH is, even in the wilderness, our SWEET, GOOD, HEAVENLY FATHER PROMISES TO PROVIDE. He will give us EXACTLY WHAT WE NEED. We can still grow stronger, our faith can grow deeper and our lives can bear great fruit even in days of drought. Read Jeremiah 17:8-9 for more AMAZING TRUTH regarding walking through difficult times.
