1 Kings 7:1-51 / Acts 7:30-50 / Psalm 128:1-6 / Proverbs 16:31-33

Standout Verse:

Psalm 128:1-4

“Blessed are all who fear the Lord, who walk in obedience.  You will eat the fruit of your labor; and it shall be well with you.  Your wife will be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children will be like olive shoots around your table.  Yes, this will be the blessing for the man who fears the Lord.

These verses outline GOD’S VISION FOR FAMILY!!  He paints a beautiful picture of strong, Godly homes lead by men and women who are seeking the Lord and allowing Him to strengthen their marriages and help them raise up strong, Godly children.  This vision is right at the center of His will!  It carries with it the promise that, as we walk in His ways, our homes will be vibrant and fruitful!

The enemy has all kinds of schemes to weaken and deteriorate families.  He loves to divide, discourage and conquer relationships – starting with the one we have with Him, then our marriages and onto our relationships with our children.

As leaders in our homes, we must say, “NO WAY – NOT ON OUR WATCH!”  We need to know the TRUTH of what God has made available for us and GO FOR IT!  WE CAN HAVE FRUITFUL MARRIAGES AND FRUITFUL FAMILIES BECAUSE GOD SAYS WE CAN!  He never gives us a vision that is impossible to live out.  We need to remember this: Greater is He in us than he who is in the world – and then, WE MUST TAKE A STAND ON THIS TRUTH!

As we choose daily to seek the Lord (individually) and walk Him in faith and obedience, His blessings and the awesome things He is doing in our lives overflow into all of our other relationships.  Marriages become stronger, children grow up in homes where the peace of God rests - they observe and learn what it means to surrender to the Lord and trust Him with their lives.

As we continue to experience the reality of God and grow in our personal understanding of His ways and faithfulness, we will be able to pass it on. We can't give our spouses or our children anything we don't first possess ourselves.  This isn't some magical recipe for happiness, IT'S JUST LOGICAL - GOD'S WAYS ARE THE BEST AND THEY LEAD TO FRUITFUL, ABUNDANT LIFE!
