2 Samuel 18:1-19:8 / John 20:1-31 / Psalm 119:153-176 / Proverbs 16:14-15
Psalm 119: V. 162 - “I rejoice at Your word as one who finds great treasure.”
V. 165 - “Great peace have those who love Your law, and nothing causes them to stumble.”
V. 168 – ”I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You.”
V. 174 – “Your law is my delight!”
Clearly the psalmist is pretty excited about the Lord. He calls God’s word “great treasure…his delight! His life is centered on God and he declares that “all his ways are before the Lord” and, due to this, he is experiencing “great peace”.
Psalm 119 is power-packed with enthusiasm and zeal for the Lord. It’s not an excitement that is manufactured or forced. It’s simply flowing our of a life that is truly experiencing God – knowing Him, walking in His truth, learning about who God is and growing in wisdom. The fact is, as we prioritize our lives in such a way where our relationship with God is at the center of it all, and seek Him every day (like our lives depend on it…because they DO!) He will be found! We will begin experiencing the same things the psalmist talks about. Our peace will increase and our fervor for the Lord will become contagious as it flows out of our lives and reaches those around us!
